Christian Jankowski
* 1968 in Göttingen, Germany
He lives and works in Berlin, Germany
The work by contemporary multimedia artist Christian Jankowski, can hardly be defined by the media he uses, such as video, installation and photography. In fact, his practice has to be considered rather as interventions in public spaces or the art world itself. By reflecting on seemingly preexisting structures, divisions or realities, his work not only lifts the curtain to reveal what is behind, but restructures the given situations. Jankowski’s work has been exhibited internationally at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Sala de Arte Publico Siqueiros in Mexico City, Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, Miami Art Museum and others. The artist participated in the Whitney Biennial (2002), 48th Venice Biennale (1999) and curated Manifesta 11 in Zurich in 2016.
