Berliner Zwischenlösung, 2013
The „Berliner Zwischenlösung“ gathers prints of various formats and qualities on three wall panels covered with blue faux leather. The first combines couples of all colours, passers-by, dancers, telephone jacks. Another shows a concentrated boy playing chess. The third panel, I call it the smoker’s panel, assembles images of people pursuing Peter’s passion: smoking. Smoking women, smoking children, smoking old people, smoking workers and the smoking photographer. I almost have the impression that everyone in the GDR smoked. Everything had to be covered in a blue haze, from the Erzgebirge to Rügen everything was thick with smoke. But then it wasn’t like that. These pictures do not show the reality of the GDR, but perhaps his reality as a smoker (and photographer). (Wilhelm Klotzek)
