“Belgium is my Africa and I’m on safari here. Safari comes from swahili and arabic, for long journey. This safari is one where I am hunting myself, to expose what can come from confronting the known and the unknown.
Belgium! A dense unknown land to this explorer, figures and phenomenon only known by second hand sources. Leuven, Waterloo, Antwerp, Brugge, Jabekke, Oostkamp, Knokke. The Ghent alterpiece, the lamb of God. I’m wandering the countryside and artifact rich cities in search god only knows, ready to capture with photo apparatus. All the clichés of chocolate, linen, waffles and kinky sex, available and ready. Flanders, a region of deep mystery. How wild can the near frontiers be?”
